Tom Logan Award - Vi Chalkley
The Tom Logan Memorial Award is an award presented to someone that has demonstrated unselfishness by contributing to the sport of Kart Racing.
The award is a memorial to Mr. Tom Logan, who built and supported the club when he was alive. He was instrumental in building the concrete road course out of the dirt track, which was the only track we had for a long time. He set up the rules for our competition (from which VA Dirt Karting was derived). He invested his own money (at significant levels) in the club for the growth of the club for the kids. He championed sportsmanship and responsibility, along with the fun of the family sport he so loved, and that this club has to offer.
Tom was lost to us one evening abruptly. His death was a big loss to the club and the world. Our world needs more people like Tom.
