Go-Kart RACING:

*AGE REQUIREMENTS - Must be 5 years old to start racing Kid Karts. (50cc 2cycle)

Classes listed by ages w/ minimum weights in the HRKC Rulebook.

*If your child is a true novice (NO racing experience @ 7 yrs old), they will race in the

beginers, Max-Torque NOVICE class until they have COMMAND of their kart.

Once some experience is acquired, HRKC highly recommends to then moving up to

the respective age class.

TO BEGIN, YOU WILL NEED:

*KART - HRKC races 2-cycle and 4-cycle karts.

Most youth’s classes are 4-cycle, 5hp Briggs & Stratton engines with restrictor plates.

MANDATORY SAFETY EQUIPMENT FOR ALL DRIVERS

*HELMET & NECK BRACE – Helmet must be Snell Approved 2000 or later rating

*DRIVER’S SUIT- W/ DRIVING GLOVES can wear blue jeans & jacket made of

Abrasion-resistant material. No nylon windbreakers. (Youths 12 & under are required

to use WKA approved chest protector (aprox. $75.00)

*RACING SHOES or suitable leather (tennis) shoes

EVENT RACING EXPENSES

*Pit passes: $ 5.00 for ages 6 & under $12.00 ages 7 & up

*Driver Registration - $12 members...........$17 non-members

*FUEL is Methanol-about- $3.25 per gallon - (fuel available at the track)

*Oil $3.00 to $9.00 qt.

$40 - prior to day of 1^st point’s race.........$50 – 1^st point’s race & beyond

*Members receive News letters, Rulebooks, & compete for Track Championship.

We have a monumental Annual Awards Banquet!

$10.00 rental transponders required for scoring. {Holder Bracket required $8.00}

You can purchase your own transponder thru the club @ a reduced rate.

*It is required that parent, guardian or responsible adult join with a child under 18.

*FT. EUSTIS - All year at the go-kart track. Hrs. are Sat./Sun. 10am-12noon. Small fee.

*LANGLEY SPEEDWAY - during racing season, you can rent the track on weekdays
